Skill development and training programs for students
The Career Guidance, Internship & Placement Cell of Allana College of Architecture, in collaboration with the Research Review Committee, is dedicated to supporting students throughout their academic and professional journey with us. The Cell facilitates a smooth transition into creative, technical and professional education while Proficiency, Employability and Entrepreneurship qualities. With a strong focus on nurturing the primary attributes of an Architect: Design, Research, and Skills, the Cell prepares students to confidently enter the professional world and construction industry.
Varied Seminars, workshops, Juries, Site Visits / study tour, etc. are conducted for the students at regular intervals. College invites eminent Architects and other Industry Experts related to the field for practical knowhow of different aspects of the profession and building industry.
Core Focus Areas: Smooth Transition to design and technical education field by understanding the course subjects and conduct.
Key Outcomes: 1-week long induction program including art, creative activities introducing subjects, learning media, site-visits and interactions with experts.
Core Focus Areas: Exposure to practical building and light-weight structures, understanding tension and membrane-based structures, understanding bamboo as a material.
Key Outcomes: A live scale structure is created in two iterations and is used for a period of 4 months. Students get to use tools and interact with experts.
Core Focus Areas: Taking a design to construction stage, generating a BOQ, exposure to Timber Market, carpentry joints and structural working.
Key Outcomes: A working furniture piece is made to put in use. Students get to use tools and interact with experts.
Core Focus Areas: Interpersonal communication, group discussion and body language.
Key Outcomes: Students understand soft skills, are engaged in group discussions moderated by guest/s and generate an essay on the learnings for subject file.
Core Focus Areas: Research Methodology, Design, Technical Tools, Presentation Skills, research topic enhancement.
Key Outcomes: Research Presentation, Juries and Discussion Panels to enhance designs, concepts, methods, presentation skills and overall research outcome.
Core Focus Areas: Identifying global study destinations and niche architectural specializations (e.g., Urban Design, BIM, Sustainable Architecture), guidance regarding job applications and portfolio preparation.
Key Outcomes: Final year students are introduced to Overseas study roadmap with respect to specialisation of their choice. Students are able to develop strategies to navigate international admissions, exams and funding requirements. Students are introduced to various professional opportunities and application requirements in India and abroad.
